San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Cosplay Gallery By Jason Chau Photography

Jason Chau is a gifted photographer from New York who took some amazing cosplay pictures at the 2013 Comic-Con in San Diego. When I asked him about his experiences this year, this is what he shared:
“Well this is was my fourth time at the San Diego Comic-Con. It’s a great con for networking, exclusive items and seeing panels since Hollywood is only two hours away. The size of the convention is two or three times bigger than anything out there. And if you don’t have a ticket for the convention, there’s plenty of other things to do offsite with Machinima, Geek & Sundry, Trickster and other companies and events in the Gaslamp Quarters. Personally, I grabbed exclusives on Preview Night. After that, it’s just photography. I spent less time on the floor this year shooting. It’s impossible to capture everything and everyone. I concentrated on shoots and helped out my good friend, Elysiam Entertainment.
Over the last three years the convention has grown with all the offsite events. It’s like Mardi Gras for nerds. You really can go broke at this convention. Don’t get overwhelmed. It’s easier said than done. Expect to wait on lines. Your feet will be sore. You will have to camp out for some exclusives like it was Black Friday. But with all the pain and suffering, it’s worth it. It’s something everyone should experience once. You feel like a little kid on Christmas morning for a week. That is Comic-Con.
As a photographer, my highlights were hanging out and drinking beers with Jay Tablante and learning the concept of a shoot. Getting to work with the top cosplayers at the con was great. I don’t get to see the West Coast cosplayers as much since I’m in New York.”
