‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ Looks Exciting, Despite Ominous Title

One of my favorite game series of the last console generation has to be the Uncharted trilogy, more so Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3. And with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End on the way, needless to say I am looking forward to what this title has in store as it is the last game to feature Nathan Drake.

Set three years after Uncharted 3, Nathan is retired, married to Elena Fisher, and living a normal life. After his older brother Sam, who he thought was dead reappears, his life is thrown a huge curveball. He embarks on a worldwide adventure in search of the long lost pirate colony, and its legendary treasure. After watching two gameplay demos it’s safe to say that the game is in more than capable hands. Seeing how Naughty Dog has created such an epic franchise with such amazing characters, engaging story, and their impressive track record of games lately I have a lot of faith in them.

The gameplay is very similar to what I remember playing in the previous Uncharted games. The action is great, the gunplay and terrain traversal is improved. I loved watching Nathan swing his way down off a ledge to knock out an enemy. In the E3 build we find Nathan and Sully in a very impressive chase scene down a mountain side of a small village. Watching this chase scene turn into a fight scene is just a small snippet of what’s to come for sure.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is said by Naughty Dog to be “his greatest adventure yet and will test his physical limits, his resolve, and his relationships.” And after watching the debut demo and the extended E3 demo I can definitely see this is going to be a wild ride for Nathan. This game will be the game all fans of Uncharted will be looking forward to March 18, next year. I am so interested to see how it all ends.
