Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner died Sep. 28, 2017 of natural causes at 91. While he is a polarizing figure and stayed controversial until the end, he can be lauded for a number of things: Promoting sex positivity, promoting diversity and raising the level of adult glamour photography to an art form. But he will always deserve praise for inspiring the bunny costume variations of popular anime and game characters.

From actual appearances in anime and games, to creative interpretations of what a character would look like as a Playboy bunny dreamed up by the cosplayer themselves, the variety of things that can be done with that basic bustier body suit and rabbit ears is outstanding.

Below are some of the best bunny suit cosplays from the past 12 months. Photographers represented in the gallery include Bentpic5, Adam Etheridge,  Prime Cosplay and Photography and me, FirstPerson Shooter. Cosplayers include AlanaleilaniAn Awkward Kaylee, Boston Bee Cosplay, among others.

Photo gallery tips: Once the page loads the images, you will see the Forward and Back navigation arrows above the image, in case you want to scroll faster than the preset. And to see the entire gallery as thumbnails, click on the gray four-box square next to the navigation arrows.

High-res images for sale!
