PAX East 2025 HoYoverse Cosplay Meetup Gallery

It seems unnecessary for me to explain what the HoYoverse is, since the games under that heading are some of the most popular of the last five years. But for those (like me) that have never played any of them, here goes: The HoYoverse is the rubric used to hold all three titles published by Chinese videogame studio and publishing house, MiHoYo, in the past five years, as well as those published before that. The reason for that specific a time break is that MiHoYo published the massive hit Genshin Impact in 2020. That was followed by Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, each a huge hit in its own right.

If you have been to a convention in the past five years and seen cosplayers dressed in anime-influenced fancy costumes with lots of trim details that look familiar, but you don’t recognize, chances are that cosplay was from a HoYoverse game. Because of the popularity of the games, it is easy to find ready made costumes for use in cosplay, for more casual cosplayers that want to express their love for the fandom or a specific character, but don’t want to invest the time in crafting something with so much detail. With dozens of characters in each game, the costumes range from cute to sexy to not allowed at a convention.

Honestly, I couldn’t name a single character in this gallery, despite having taken many photos of each of them over the years. OK, I do know the character Dottore, only because that is the character our team member Adventures of Clever is wearing.

Among the cosplayers in this gallery are sugarcoatedkiss, iadontknow, sugoitamagocos, cartergriffen777, Adventures of Clever, tabby.cosplay, mini_quinni, ninjabluecosplay, sevencolorsoul, and many more.

We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
