PAX East 2025 Marvel Rivals Cosplay Meetup Gallery
When ReedPop reached out to us about possibly being the first official Cosplay Photo and Video partner for PAX East, they made it clear that they also wanted us to photograph the convention’s first ever officially organized cosplay meetups. As our planning meetings and negotiations were going on, I reached to our content team members to see who would be interested in filling that role for us. Jibrii of spectra_v3 jumped right on it, and after some wrangling, was brought on.
Then came a lot of uncertainty about where the meetups would happen, when they would be scheduled for and ultimately whether or not we could use lighting gear. Once it became clear that the cosplay meetups would happen in the same room as all other scheduled fandom meetups, it also became clear that we couldn’t use extra lighting. Each time a new fandom or cosplay meetup happened, all the furniture in the room would be rearranged to meet the needs of the fandom or cosplay group. So, setting up light stands in the middle of all that was rightly deemed too risky.
Given that we couldn’t use anything but available room light, on Thursday before the con started, Jibrii and I went into Room 109 and configured his camera settings. After that, it was just a couple of hours before the first Cosplay Meetup, the cosplayers from the hit game Marvel Rivals. Oddly enough, I met the organizer saphssquatch just a few weeks earlier at Wicked Comic Con, when I took photos of her cosplaying as Magik. Alas, as the organizer she is only a few shots in the gallery linked below.
Cosplayers in this gallery include rubyqueen921, savageartform, sailorxgarnet, elementaltori, olive.armor, armpuntpaladin, hannahben38, and many more.
