PAX East 2025 Saturday Gallery Part 2 of 6
After seeing how busy Friday was, we expected Saturday at PAX East 2025 to be wild. By late morning, it was clear just how wildly busy it would be. Again, all the props to the Enforcers, who kept popping in seemingly every hour to make sure we and GiveWave Studios‘ now four-person cosplay repair team had everything we needed, including line management if it was required. We got close to having the room that crowded but always stayed just under needing an Enforcer to herd some cats.
Saturday was also the busiest day for the Cosplay Meetups, with four instead of the two on Friday. That kept our photographer Jibrii of spectra_v3 busy for most of the afternoon and into early evening. Those galleries will be posted after the studio galleries are done, so if you want to see those pictures, you’ll need to wait more than a week. Despite being so busy, Jibrii found time to grab me an empanada from the food truck Nuchas which was located inside, on the showroom floor. In fact, the only food trucks this year were inside the BCEC. It turns out that one of the side effects of having to change the date of the convention from around March to May was it meant that the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, which manages the BCEC, the Hynes, and outdoor event space next to the BCEC, the Lawn on D, was into its summer schedule. The space the trucks would normally occupy outside was already scheduled for other things.
In this gallery you’ll find cosplay from hit indie games such as Cuphead and Hades, alongside big titles like Baldur’s Gate 3 and the Sonic franchise. But you will also see what was a surprise to me — another Frieren cosplayer from the anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. It is a very popular anime, so it’s understandable to see one at even a gaming convention, but so far, each Saturday gallery has one, as well as one from Friday. And this won’t be the last one either.
