ColossalCon East 2017 Gallery by FPS, Friday Part 1

This year marked the first expansion of the well-known summer convention ColossalCon outside of its home in Ohio to a second location at Pocono Manor in Pennsylvania, a sister event called ColossalCon East. Both events are held at a Kalahari Resort family resort and water park. The new location is one of the newest of the Kalahari resorts and boasts the largest indoor water park in the U.S. at 220,000 square feet, according to the website.

The outdoor water park is not as big as the equivalent in Sandusky, Ohio, but since the weather this past weekend was cool and occasionally rainy, that wasn’t an issue. However, with just one wave pool area in the indoor water park, it became crowded on Saturday, with photographers and cosplayers facing across at each other nearly shoulder to shoulder (or at least light stand to light stand).

In addition to having a huge indoor water park the Poconos Kalahari has a huge hotel, with some 970+ guest rooms. The convention center space is smaller than in Sandusky, something dealers, vendors and panel presenters will have to contend with until an additional 130,000 feet of space is added. Officially that is planned for completion in 2019, but I heard rumors the resort planned to speed that up to meet the needs of ColossalCon East.

Cosplayers in this gallery include Hikaru Cosplay, DiMarzipancake, BlueDruid CosplayViajeras Cosplay & CraftsCel CosplayWhite Fang Cosplay, Verse Cosplay, menzamortaIceKhaleesi Cosplay and Photography, Labinnak & Mangoloo Cosplays, Arma CosplayArtoria Grey Cosplay, and many more. In addition to galleries from me, we’ll be posting plenty of galleries from Adam Etheridge, who spent much more time in the water park than I did, so more bathing suits!
