After taking a two-year break since its inaugural event, TerrorCon returned to Providence, RI, last weekend. Put on by the same company that runs the much larger Rhode Island Comic Con — and in the same convention center — TerrorCon focuses on horror or supernatural movies, TV and books.

That focus means that the vast majority of costumes are from something related to horror or supernatural entertainment. Still, many cosplayers we find at anime or comic conventions were also at TerrorCon, including West Street StudiosMr. Ghoulie KC, Jonny Ruckus CosplayRoxas PaigePrime Cosplay and Photography, Glamazon_Painforest_Cosplay, Nova Genesis Cosplay, Zombie LeaderAE Cosplay, Lulynnescence Cosplay, many members of the 501st New England Garrison completely incognito as band of crazy cartoon monsters, and many more.

High-res images for sale!
If you are pictured in any of our galleries and want the high resolution download for yourself, we can make it available via a private, password-protected link, for $8 per image. Just send an email to editor AT nerdcaliber.com.

We are also now selling high resolution images of some of the photos taken of cosplayers that have agreed to let us do so. To see the 50 or so images we have available to download for a mere $8 each, go to our Anime Boston 2016 sales gallery and our Spring Super Megafest 2016 sales gallery.

The Shape of Water Will Fill Your Hearts and Minds

The tagline for Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water is “A Fairy Tale for Troubled Times.” It’s a clever phrase whose double meaning is quite apt. Set in the incredibly troubled Cold War era of 1962, its depiction of...
