PAX East 2025 Saturday Gallery Part 1 of 6
After seeing just how large each gallery would be from Saturday at PAX East 2025 if I kept them to only five, I decided that I had to make six galleries. Even still, each gallery will be more than 120 photos. If we do this again next year, I’ll probably have to accept galleries with photo counts above 150 just to keep the posts from running through an entire month.
While this next story isn’t specifically a Saturday story, I’ve got lots of galleries to get through, so indulge me please. Last year we had to relocate from our usual location just off the lobby because the space was being used for storage. That was because the space usually used by the Enforcers for that storage was closed off for development. The result of that development is a new automated snack shop, where the FedEx shipping location use to be. Friday morning, because I wasn’t getting a Dunkin Donuts delivery, I decided to try it out.
The front of the shop is open to the hallway, with one large pillar in the middle of the opening. On the left of the pillar are gated entrances, like Japanese subway gates, that are activated once you tap a credit card or phone wallet, so the system can charge you for the food you grab. You enter and there are bags of chips or crackers, cold drinks, cold sandwiches and hot food, and a touchscreen-activated coffee brewing station. Once you have your purchases, you just walk up to the exit gates on the other side of the pillar, and they open when the system has charged you — maybe a second of delay. Very cool and futuristic. Alas, the hot food choices were only pastries, and the coffee machine was much more about brewing trendy drinks like espresso than a plain cup o’ joe. I never went back to it during the rest of the convention, but I still love the concept. Put some foil-wrapped just-made breakfast sandwiches in there, and I would have been back every day.
Among the cosplayers in this first of six Saturday galleries are mockingdragon, audrinator.ttv, etherealamberr, kenneth_pereira, Mink the Satyr Cosplay, ashesdaphoenix, ndiaz.cos, theastercaster, mrpancakes007, rosen.queen, uju_cosplay, yuriii_cos, b4bsbunny, blueeyedsirencosplay, three_names_workshop, AshleyIsALot Cosplay, terrorus_cosplay, susieqcosplay, ixneedxaxlife, himbohusbando, geek.en.chic, sadieliplady, baggincats_cosplay, neocoolstar, shericosplays, unicornnugz, madame.zombie.cosplay, iadontknow, bulbouswhore, and many more.
