PAX East 2025 Saturday Gallery Part 4 of 6
Since the Final Fantasy Cosplay Meetup was scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday at PAX East 2025 it makes sense that there are again a bunch of characters from that game franchise in this gallery, which was shot early to mid-afternoon. But even though the meetup for the game Marvel Rivals was on Friday, there is a great selection of cosplayers portraying characters from that game in here as well. Given what a big hit that game has become, I guess it is no surprise that cosplayers chose to dress as some of those characters every day of the convention.
Saturday morning the weather in Boston continued the dreary rain that had settled in Friday evening. But by noon the skies had cleared. I was worried that the bad weather would keep the number of cosplays down for Saturday, but, well, six galleries totaling 762 images says that didn’t happen. In fact, it got so busy that when my table assistant, Clever of Adventures of Clever, came by to check on me as scheduled, I asked him to stay at the table and help manage the crowds looking to get their official cosplay photos. Thankfully he had no more panels he wanted to see, and stayed there until 6 p.m., being a massive help.
Clever is known lately for cosplaying Paul Atreides from the new Dune movies, and while he had other characters to wear for this PAX East (mostly from the Hoyoverse of games) I was quite surprised that I didn’t see any cosplay from either the movies of the upcoming game Dune: Awakening. Developer Funcom had one of the bigger booths on the showroom floor, all about Dune: Awakening, and we even have a great video interview with Art Directors David Levy and Gavin Whelan over on YouTube. I guess the designs are so complicated that they are not high on many cosplayers’ lists. Or too monochrome.
