PAX Unplugged 2025 Saturday Gallery Part 1
After the breakfast sandwiches we had on Friday from a coffee shop in Reading Terminal Market were delicious but very messy, on Saturday of PAX Unplugged, Nerd Caliber founder Manny and I decided to try the in-hotel Central City Pantry. The pre-made breakfast sandwiches were tasty but dry, and while Manny liked his chai latte, I found the black coffee was brewed like Starbucks — overly strong to account for people adding tons of junk to it.
Speaking of Starbucks, since the workers were still on strike, going there was never an option while we were at the convention.
Setting up the lights for the studio, which had been locked away in the nearby Calm Space room, run by the group Calm Passion, was easy Saturday morning, and I was ready to go before our official start at 10 a.m. Since I had taken a surprisingly high 100 photos on Friday, I figured Saturday would see at least three times that number. By noon, it was clear that wasn’t going to be the case.
Despite reports that the Exhibit Hall was packed to the gills, we saw just a slight increase of foot traffic in our hallway than we did on Friday. If not for the fact that we were right across from the popular game room Deception Zone, we would have had even lower numbers. That gave Manny plenty of time to take advantage of the many, many food options adjacent to the Philadelphia Convention Center, which is unparalleled among any convention center I’ve been to. I really wish Boston had even a third of the number of food options around the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center that the PCC has.
