PAX Unplugged 2025 Dimension 20 Meetup Gallery
As I mentioned in a previous article, Saturday afternoon at PAX Unplugged, while I held down the fort in the studio space, Manny and Adam of gamesNgirls went to the two cosplay meetups scheduled for the convention. Manny recorded video, which will be up on our YouTube channel in a few weeks, and Adam took photos, which you can see in the gallery linked below.
Dimension 20 is a recorded live tabletop RPG gaming session series, launched in 2018 by Brennan Lee Mulligan, who is the series DM. Mulligan, who had experience in writing webcomics and TTRPG campaigns, was inspired by the success of similar shows such as The Adventure Zone and Critical Role. according to Wikipedia, citing a 2018 Bleeding Cool interview. The season-long campaigns are run in the Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition rules set.
One reason why many of the costumes in the gallery seem to be fantasy variations on normal clothes is that two of the most popular campaigns D20 has run are the first campaign “Fantasy High” and the 2024 sequel “Fantasy High: Junior Year.” Set in Aguefort Adventuring Academy, the first campaign was turned into a Webtoon web comic, which is where many of the cosplayer costume designs came from.
The meetup was hosted by D20 Cosplay, a community group that organizes Dimension 20 meetups all over the U.S. and even as far as MCM London.
Cosplayers in the gallery include yoonerds, linzcosplays, biospock, and many more.
