AnimeNYC 2026 Gallery By Spectra_V3
The first of our multiple photo galleries from Anime NYC 2026 is from our newest team photographer, the well-known cosplayerr Jibrii of spectra_v3. Jibrii has been a team member for many years, as an interviewer, a games reviewer and a panelist back when we did panels. He got the photography bug a few years ago, and in 2025 he was our photographer for the Cosplay Meetups at our first PAX East as the official cosplay photography service for the convention.
That went so well we brought him back for this year, and he wanted to try hall photography of cosplayers at other conventions. AnimeNYC 2026 was the first one, and he did a great job right out of the gate. He handled the challenges of the different lighting conditions well, considering how many locations at which he was taking photos. Most of the photos were taken in the various front-of-building hallways with their large glass walls letting in lots of natural light, but some were taken in what seem to be large panel rooms. And one, the cosplayer of Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop, was taken at one end of what is known as Photographer’s Tunnel, because of how many photographers like to use that space.
