By mid-afternoon on Friday the PAX East enforcers came into Room 207 with rolls of tape in hand, insisting on taping the floor into a double queue row to better organize the cosplayers waiting for photos. I thought we were handling the organized chaos pretty well, so asked if that was really necessary.

Turns out that twice already the waiting crowd spilled out into the hallway, and I never noticed. So, they wouldn’t take no for an answer — not that I objected strongly. Managing PAX crowds is mostly what they do, and they are good at it. So, with a double row that stretched from our table to about 10 feet from the door, I figured we were all set and would never have to think of what to do if they both got filled up (this what we call foreshadowing, folks).

One advantage of the new queue line was that I got a chance to catch up with cosplayers in line that I hadn’t seen since PAX East last year. Another was that it moved cosplayers through the studio more efficiently, enough so that in a slower moment table assistant Clever of Adventures of Clever jumped in to get photos of his Gojo cosplay from Jujutsu Kaisen. Cailin continued to work the table, letting everyone know where to find the photos so they could get their free downloads, and Victoria would join her in between developer interview sessions and getting the popular short “Give Us a Spin” videos. All while David was a workhorse on the camera.
