Another Anime Convention 2026, Friday Part 2
Once the Dealers Room at Another Anime Convention 2026 opened at 2 p.m. on Friday, traffic by the hallway where my studio was set up increased, Between the fact that the entrance to where the vendors were was just around the corner and down a short hallway, the Videogame Room and the Manga Library being right next to me, and the parking garage entrance and elevators being at the other end of the connecting hallway, there were plenty of reasons for people to pass by.
Another possible reason for the increased traffic Friday (and all weekend) might have been the fact that this was the 20th Anniversary of the convention. That kind of anniversary makes any convention a special event, and AAC could have benefited from it this year. Whatever the reason, I was glad to have more people in front of my backdrop this year than last.
In this gallery is one of the cosplayers I reconnected with this weekend who I hadn’t seen in a decade, the Hercule with the wrestling champion belt. The pace of cosplayers coming by was even enough that we had time to catch up, and for me to get envious that now both of his jobs have him driving all over the country. Also in this gallery is one with not quite so long a gap (seven years, I think), the cosplayer of Trinity Santos from the hit show The Pitt. And again, we had plenty of time to catch up, and for me to meet their wonderful service dog.
Around 5:30 p.m. my assistant animesuckx watched the table while I took a few extra minutes to decompress in my hotel room, then grabbed some excellent pizza from the Green Room. I don’t know from where they got that pizza for Friday dinner, but they were extra large and sliced into six, not eight, so each slice was enormous. Fed and hydrated, I finished out the evening with one of the cosplay judges for the Masquerade, starsofcassiopeia, along with handler and fellow cosplayer ceryhind, just making it with their cosplays from Twisted Wonderland before I closed up shop.
