Another Anime Convention 2026, Saturday Part 3
Near the beginning of this third gallery from Another Anime Convention 2026, I had my assistant animesuckx and friends watch the table while I went to the Green Room for some lunch. I slapped together a hefty ham and cheese sandwich and grabbed a snack bag to go along with the piles of snacks that unworthycos and romimew411 had left earlier. They were hauling around a cart that I assumed was for different cosplays, but was mostly full of boxes of snacks they were handing out everywhere.
After lunch I mainly tried to fight off the mid-afternoon desire to nap. Thankfully, friends mostly not in cosplay came by often to check in on me and chat, including Chris, one of the owners of Double Midnight Comics and Granite State Comicon, which will be held in the same hotel (and the arena across the street) starting exactly four weeks from when this article goes live on Friday.
Unlike what happened at my most recent convention, Fan Expo Boston, at AAC I didn’t have the same flash exposure problems. It occurred to me that it likely wasn’t the flash, because after about halfway through Saturday at the MCEC I pushed my flash to full power. And it isn’t possible for a flash to suddenly put out three to four extra stops worth of light beyond its full output. So I worked on the assumption that it was the camera or lens. For AAC I switched to my older Sigma zoom lens, and never got the exposure problem. Might have to take that other lens in to be checked.
One of the benefits of being in the hallway I was set up in was that it was right next to the Con Office, so if I had any issues that needed to be dealt with I could address them without losing sight of my photo gear. It also meant I had a place to put my light stands at night so nobody would walk off with them. Being that close, I also got to see how AAC was handling being back in the Doubletree hotel (which was a Radisson when they were last there). Not surprisingly, on Friday there was a fair amount of running around, but none of it in panic mode, it seemed. By Saturday the Con Office was busy but not frantic, and it seemed like they had things running pretty smoothly.
