Another Anime Convention 2026, Sunday Part 1
I started out Sunday at Another Anime Convention 2026 with a very late realization — there was free coffee in the hotel lobby. At least, I think it was free. Either way, it was miles beyond the K-cup garbage that is included with a hotel room. Don’t use K-cups, folks. The coffee is bad and they make unnecessary trash.
Sunday was the slowest day of the weekend, as is usually the case, and since the convention ended at 3 p.m., there will be two 90ish galleries from that final day. It was, however, perhaps the most consistent in the flow of cosplayers coming to my studio or passing close enough by that I could call them over for photos.
In these galleries are examples of the most popular things from which people cosplayed at AAC, including KPop Demon Hunters, Jujutsu Kaisen and Witch Hat Atelier, that last maybe being the most common. But also in here are cosplayers from the book series Dungeon Crawler Carl and spookyducky came by as one of the three cosplays on Sunday of Marin Kitagawa from My Dress-Up Darling. There are also some real throwback cosplays in here, including Soul Eater and Seraph of the End. Both momma.flower and I gushed over the loli vampire queen that she was cosplaying as, Krul Tepes from Seraph.
For much of the middle of the day, my assistant animesuckx was in the Cosplay Chess game, which was fine as it was pretty slow and I had plenty of friends stop by to check on me if I needed a break. Afterward she showed me a video from one of her matches and it was hilarious.
Near the end of this gallery’s time I asked the Con Office to print me out a sign that read, in large block letters “FREE COSPLAY PHOTOSTUDIO” with an arrow pointing toward my setup. I placed in on a table that was right next to an open stretch of the full-wall windows that looked into the Dealer Room, to try to catch the attention of passing cosplayers. As far as I can tell it did nothing, but it was a fun experiment.
