Anime Boston 2025 Cosplay Gallery Friday Part 3
This year at Anime Boston 2025, the con gave us a two-table space instead of just one. Since the next table over was Granite State Comic Con, the man himself Pat Covey helped me swing one of the tables 90 degrees to make an opening into our space for cosplayers to enter and an extra table space for the GraniteCon team to put things on or under. That layout turned out to be super helpful. I doubt there is any way to guarantee that we will get that again in any future year, but it would be great if and when it happens again.
Having the GraniteCon table right next to ours was also helpful for grabbing cosplayers who either came up to chat with Covey (like Cowbutt Crunchies and their awesome entire vampire documentary crew from What We Do In The Shadows — this gallery) or coming up to spin their prize wheel, like the second ever cosplayer of MF Doom (previous gallery) I’ve ever seen — both at conventions at the Hynes, oddly enough. Of course, my usual strategy of calling out to cosplayers walking by was in full force, landing me groups like the Patty, Liz, and Kid Death from Soul Eater and the Sunraku and Arthur Pencilgon from Shangri-La Frontier.
About that last mentioned anime — if you are any kind of a gamer that also watches anime and you haven’t watched Shangri-La Frontier, you should fix that right away. Nothing captures the real feel of actual gamers like that series, right down to the cringe-inducing “clever” names players give themselves in online games, like the aforementioned Arthur Pencilgon.
