CD Projekt Red Accidently Confirms Witcher 3 DLC For 2027
One day in advance of its planned REDstreams event on May 28, CD Projekt Red seemingly by accident added the name of the long-rumored new DLC for its massive hit game The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt to its own game launcher.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S sometime in 2027, according to the web page that went live today.
I had stopped watching any of the many YouTube videos made about this then-rumored DLC, because, despite what they kept saying in their titles, nobody had any real “new!” information. All of the rumors started with a Polish podcaster who stated way back in June 2025 that there would be a new DLC coming for The Witcher 3, based on his multiple sources. In addition, he claimed it was being developed with Polish studio Fool’s Theory, the company that is already working with CD Projekt Red on the remake of The Witcher. That was confirmed in the rushed web post linked above.
The Witcher 3 is perhaps my favorite game of all time. I’ve played through the entire game and the Blood and Wine DLC many times (the less said about Hearts of Stone, the better). In an article from March of this year, I even described how playing the game made me a better person.
So, it is an understatement to say I am looking forward to the Songs of the Past DLC with great excitement. Alas, we know almost nothing about it aside from the title. The featured image above is the only image CD Projekt Red has on the new web page, and it just shows Geralt in the armor of the Viper School. The coloration indicates it may have been made in or screencapped from a more advanced game engine than the studio’s own RED Engine that drives The Witcher 3, but that’s pretty wild speculation.
We will have to wait until tomorrow to get any more details, if any. On the new web page, CD Projekt Red states that more details will be coming in “late summer 2026” so I don’t know how much they will tell us during the REDstream — or even when it will happen. The CD Projekt Red Twitch channel has nothing scheduled for tomorrow, and last streamed four months ago.
