There will be two galleries from ConnectiCon 2026, mainly because I only attended on Saturday, and then didn’t get set up on the mezzanine level to start shooting until almost noon.

I figured we would get there — my ride and assistant Adventures of Clever and travel companion bad_phoenix_wolf — around 10:30, as we left a bit after 8 and it is a two-hour drive from north of Boston to Hartford. I was pretty much on schedule, until we got to the bottom of the bridge to turn onto the street that takes us to the hotel and convention center parking. And stopped.

We sat there for 20 minutes, and when the GPS finally took us to the first garage entrance, it was closed. After rerouting us through downtown Hartford, we finally got back on the correct street, only to find the attached garage was full. When we got to the entrance to the garage across the street, we were the very last car allowed in before it too was closed for being full.

Once we got to the room to get our press passes, everything went smoothly. Our videographer animesucks was there all weekend and was able to grab me a seating area on the mezzanine. Normally I would have been facing the white wall directly behind me in these shots, but the Connecticut Convention Center decided to put a large TV on that wall, so I had to face the front wall of the center, which is five stories of glass windows. As it turned out, I really like the look of the photos because of that.

About halfway through the gallery you might notice there are a lot of people very close behind the cosplayers I am photographing. That’s because right around 2 p.m. it started to rain, and we really got to see why the garages were full, as everyone enjoying the interesting outside plaza suddenly rushed into the convention center to get out of the rain. I heard that ConnectiCon sold out of three-day passes the week before the convention started, and the huge crowd seemed to back that up.

Cosplayers in this first of two galleries include, gaijin_cosplays, zacosplay_, kaffeinat3d, partyhardycosplay, lucidaero, c0demonk, lilmissmusclemommy911, daymanourgod, littlestmatcha, jerryscosplay18, tetrasdomain, sea.spies, drekkeri, faerieprincen, haunted_voodoo, cherimortelle, aleekhem, nanaakaonasis, yoneprefires, redvelvet_cosplay, foxsea.fish, crazyy.floof, horizonzhazey, ty_cosp, pinwheel_poe, cloudberrysunjoy, hanna_zammarieh, and many more.
