D.Va Cosplay Retrospective Gallery On Cornchip Day

Today is Cornchip Day (seriously, Google it), one of the crazy “funny holidays” that some marketing genius dreamt up. So I thought what better way to acknowledge it than a gallery of cosplay photographs I’ve taken over the years of the corn chip queen herself, the adorable gremlin D.Va.

Since Blizzard released the game Overwatch in May 2016, the playable characters have become a staple of cosplay at all kinds of fandom conventions, particularly game-focused cons. And while I have certainly taken more pictures of people cosplaying D.Va at PAX East than any other con, I’ve also taken plenty at New York Comic Con and even plenty at anime cons like Anime Boston. While all Overwatch characters are popular, D.Va may be the most popular with cosplayers because of the character’s attitude and the wide variety of relatively simple designs of bodysuits for her various character skins.

That popularity and variety means that the gallery has more than 120 images taken over just four years (three, really since 2020 hardly counts). While I would normally split that into two galleries, because this is tied to a single day, it stays as one big gallery. And that’s after taking out out multiple cases of photographs of the same cosplayer in the same character design at different cons.

Cosplayers in this gallery include Sweet Elite Cosplay, cosplay.tory, jels_cosplays, thehoekage_05, its_tenny_, XMoonKittyx, Lunsum, sarahspectre, overpowered.otter, lvl1kat, OhMy JeanMarie, illumiilani, Vampy Bit Me, Magical girl kandy cosplay, teh_chibs, _molliemoo_, macklecosplays, ohjennabates, IceKhaleesi Cosplay and Photography, faeryisms, starryeyes28, teddysher, kutiekittenxo, notgodzilla, sarahjcosplay, MaeBee Cosplay, dragonphyree, and many, many more.

We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.

To view the entire gallery, just click on the image below. If you are pictured in any of our galleries, feel free to download the images and use them non-commercially on social media, with appropriate credit.
