Fan Expo Boston Gallery By FirstPerson Shooter, Friday Part 1

We have been lucky enough to have a studio setup of some sort at every Fan Expo Boston since it acquired Boston Comic Con. But this year we were asked to be the photographers for Fan Expo’s new program across all of its conventions, the cosplay Red Carpet.

For a 30-40 minute period a number of times throughout the conventions, cosplayers are invited to walk a red carpet and get photos taken by an experienced cosplay photographer. That role for us was filled by Gregg of Wonderllama Photography, who had some experience having done so at MegaCon in Orlando earlier this year.

In exchange, we got our own booth this year right next to the Cosplay Contest signup booth, instead of sharing their booth as we’ve done in years past. That large booth allowed me to set up the full portable studi0 — full-size backdrop and two 300W flash units on AC power, not flashes with batteries.

While Friday was a partial day, only open to the general attendees from 4 to 9 p.m., I still took enough photos for three galleries. Among the cosplayers in this first gallery are Kaylaina Cosplay, Jillian Cipher Cosplay, harleyharhar, Oceania Cosplay, WaterDragondesign, Silhouette Cosplay, sideeyebrigade, Everyone’s Hero Cosplay, amberleyclark, Zombie Leader, Multitudes Cosplay, Not Quite Done Yet Cosplay, Jason Lownes – J-Low Cosplay, Alazar Cosplay, skeptical.cosplays, j_cosplays25_anart, and many more.

We now use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and will post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This will allow us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
