Granite State Comic Con 2023 Sunday Gallery Part 2

Overall Granite State Comic Con 2023 was a great event and a fun time. But without question the best thing about Sunday (and the con overall) was the surprise appearance of my nephew Peter, my grandnephew Jackson and Peter’s friend Joe. I had just finished a shoot and was explaining where to find the photos to the cosplayer, when I heard a familiar young voice, and then clearly my nephew saying, “Wait for him to finish.” I turned and there they were.

Sunday had enough slow moments that I was able to treat them all to lunch and enjoy it, chatting and scarfing down sandwiches at the Nerd Caliber table. By the way, if you are ever at an event in the Doubletree Hotel and the Center of New Hampshire Expo and need something for breakfast or lunch, the cafe The Daily Brew is one of the best deals in Manchester. I got four sandwiches so big that three of us couldn’t finish our own (yes, I was one of those) for $22 and change.

Jackson is in the gallery linked below as his own creative costume idea, melding two Halloween costumes to make the Hulk busting out of the Hulkbuster Iron Man armor. The nerd is strong in this youngling, as it should be.

Speaking of young nerds, the kids cosplay contest was Sunday, which is why there are so many kids in this gallery and the previous one. Of note is the Spider-Punk cosplayer. His parents helped him get his cowl on, I guided him to the right spot in the backdrop, and his dad simply said, “OK (can’t remember his name) rock out!” and the kid just jumped right into these incredible poses. He needed no further guidance by his parents or me. The kid’s a natural.

Next year GraniteCon will be Sept. 21-22, again at the Doubletree Hotel and the Center of New Hampshire Expo in downtown Manchester, NH. I am told that after this year’s record-setting attendance, there are plans to really kick it up a notch or two for 2024.

Cosplayers in this last GraniteCon 2023 gallery include ashe_does_cosplay, benspark, thatfakeleo, c4tb0v.16, aeons_on_saturn, ink_echo, Magic and Pop Culture, rangerpoolcosplay, kaewhatever, foxiimoxii, jaylicator, christopherlavallee, feliciaariesof, Everyone’s Hero Cosplay, Lunsum, the__devil__you__know, captainkayceecosplay, the_namaslay_cosplay, hekabekah, eg.cosplay, old_school_jedi, sullivangalaxyforge, starryeyedcicadaa, paige.bell, peachie_medicine, red_fox_cosplays, and many more.

This was written during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the actors currently on strike, many of the characters being cosplayed here wouldn’t exist. Please consider donating to the Entertainment Community Fund here.
