Granite State Comicon 2025 Sunday Gallery Part 1
After the problems that beset Granite State Comicon 2025 on Saturday, things seemed to be almost back to normal on Sunday. I spent Saturday night at the home of riddleyleenick and her family, slept like a log, and was pleased to see that the connector between the Doubletree Hotel and the Center of New Hampshire was open again, after the burst pipe flooded it the day before.
Because it was Sunday and because the signup for the Kid’s Contest wasn’t starting until just before the event at 2 p.m., the Cosplace Room was empty of cosplayers for much of the day. That gave me time to prepare some presentation material for our panel at 3 p.m., “Cosplay, Gaming and Conventions as an Older Nerd.” The slower pace of the day means that while I will have two galleries from Sunday like I did from Saturday, they will be 70+ images each instead of more than 110 each.
If I didn’t have to rush to come up with that panel content (because I completely forgot about it, to the extent of not even thinking to bring my laptop) I could have checked out the Dealer’s Room spaces in the Exhibit Hall and the Armory, and particularly the SNHU Arena across the street. Last year Granitecon expanded into the arena because it had used up all the available space in the hotel and connected facilities. That year rain on Saturday meant attendees who had chosen to start in one event space generally stayed there — or at least walked back and forth less than they would have. This year the weather was perfect and hopefully the con had more movement between the buildings.
