MegaCon 2022 Thursday Gallery by Cantera Cosplay

Like last year, we again had two photographers working MegaCon Orlando 2022 — Manny of cantera_cosplay and Gregg of Wonderllama Photography. This year Manny struck first blood with his galleries, starting with this shorter one from Thursday.

Unlike last year, when a mask requirement was in place for convention attendees, this year MegaCon had no requirement for masks or proof of vaccination. That allowed Manny to get maskless photos unlike those available at most of the relatively rare conventions in the past 18 months. In this gallery of 41 images there are three cosplayers wearing masks.

The downside of this policy is that just two days after the convention ended, I had reports from attending friends of at least four people catching covid-19 at MegaCon 2022.

That aside, the convention seemed to be close to its normal attendance size. All of the parking lots and garages at the Orange County Convention Center were full by 11 a.m. Saturday, which matches what it was like the last time I attended, way back in 2014.
