PAX East 2023 Saturday Cosplay Gallery By FirstPerson Shooter Part 1

There will be three galleries from Saturday of PAX East 2023, despite the fact that I didn’t start taking photos until nearly 1:30 in the afternoon. I wasn’t running late — we had our Cosplay And Photography Shoot-Out event at 11 a.m., and this year PAX gave us a 2-hour time slot. And with the Enforcers wanting us to show up 45 minutes early for any possible last minute technical issues to get worked out, I didn’t even have time to set up my lights once I got to the BCEC before I had to head off to Arachnid Theater.

I won’t go into too much detail about how the panel went. That will happen when we post all the pictures that the teams entered. I can say it went swimmingly, and we had the greatest participation of any of the dozens of times we’ve run this panel at conventions from GraniteCon to New York Comic Con. And wait until you see the creativity in the images the photographer and cosplayers teams produced. Chef’s kiss.

The number of cosplay photos I took on Saturday are pretty close — per hour — to the numbers I took in 2019 or 2020. That belies the impression most of the people I talked to had that the number of cosplayers overall was down from previous years.

Those cosplayers include susieqcosplay, lytecos, bostonreinhardt, magpieeee__zimmermanjoe21, katofthecanal, b4bsbunny, GiveWave Studios, lunafreyanoxfleuret, uusagi_yuki, blueeyedsirencosplay, Inevitable Betrayal Cosplay, Vee Cosplay, hailiumworkshop, duske2dawne, berriesandken, and many more.

We use Smugmug to present cosplay photo galleries and post all photos there, with a link to each gallery in its own gallery article. This allows us to give you higher resolution images to download — still for free.
