PAX East 2026 Saturday Gallery Part 1

The apprehension I felt about Saturday of PAX East 2026 disappeared almost immediately as we got close to opening the doors to Room 207 at 10 a.m. Just a few minutes before opening, in walked my friend terman8er in his giant blue Space Marine armor from Warhammer: 40K. He needed something fixed by the GiveWave Studios Cosplay Repair team before getting out on the show floor. And right behind him walked in wreckeur in his giant yellow Space Marine (specifically Sigismund), also needing some early repair.

What were the odds that these two giant armor builds, by two people who didn’t know each other at all, happened to come in at the same time? They had never met, didn’t know of each other as cosplayers, and with a couple of minutes separating their entrances into the room, they didn’t even see each other in the hallway. It was great watching them connect over their cosplays, and I was thrilled to have them as my first photos of the day, once their repairs were done. Add to that my happiness at seeing terman8ter, who I hadn’t seen in more than a decade, and it made for a great start to my Saturday.

Once the doors were officially opened the cosplayers came in at a steady but not overwhelming pace. We didn’t even need to use the queue line taped on the floor, although people naturally did if there was more than one cosplayer waiting. After 16 years, the PAX East Enforcers have attendees well trained on how to use queue lines.

Friday morning my second photographer David brought me a breakfast sandwich from the amazing flour bakery & cafe, but on Saturday he switched it up to Tatte Bakery & Cafe. The bacon, egg and cheddar on sourdough was absolutely delicious, but the sourdough crust was so thick and crunchy I almost lost a tooth. Still worth it.
