Summer Cosplay Contest Series July Winners!

Our second event in the Summer Cosplay Contest Series was much bigger than the June qualifier, with more than twice the number of contestants at 15. Like the first event, the July qualifier was loaded with amazing cosplayers in diverse and fantastic costumes.

With so many contestants it was a challenge to keep the event to the two-hour deadline, and we overshot by about 30 minutes. But the judges had excellent questions about the cosplay construction and techniques and even with the successful efforts of organizer Pat “The Covinator” Covey to manage time, it took as long as it needed to.

Speaking of the judges, this time we had the services of rattle_and_burn, Redfield design, and Thatgearsguy. Once again the host for the evening was the amazing Boston’s Deadpool.

The details of the Summer Cosplay Contest Series are that there are three contests and a finals over three months, all held online, streamed live on The Covinator’s Twitch channel and our YouTube channel. June 28th, July 25th and August 22 will be qualifier contests for the finals held right after the August qualifier. Prizes will be given out for the top two winners, and for the host and the judges award winners, at each qualifier. The top winner from each qualifier will compete in the August finals, for prize packages that will include cash!

The results were:

1st Place = Dovah Design as Knight Artorias

Runner-up = Lady Cels as Onyxia

Host Award = zeroobstacles as Destiny Gundam

Judge’s Award = mcheretic as Terra from Final Fantasy 6

Judge’s Award = kittyinthewaycosplay as Belle Fett

Judge’s Award = Electric Seafoam as Mercy
