Superman Cosplay Retrospective Gallery On Superman Day

Ten years ago today, DC Entertainment established Superman Day, a marketing move to promote the release two days later of Man of Steel. OK, to be fair, it was first called Man of Steel Day, and intended to be just for that year. But apparently it was picked up by the fandom, who kept it going, eventually spontaneously morphing into the more inclusive Superman Day.

There are cosplayers in the Man of Steel costume of course, but also a couple of Red Son Soviet Superman cosplayers, a couple of Clark Kents revealing the Superman logo (including our founder Manny), an Injustice Superman with the full-chest metal logo, and even a couple of cosplayers as Justice Lord Superman in the black, white and red outfit. Oh, and Kingdom Come Superman and Bizarro Superman … he’s had a lot of looks and many of them are in this gallery. Alas, no mullet Superman.

So put on Donovan’s “Sunshine Superman,” trip out easy and maybe even rewatch Man of Steel (come on, it’s the best thing Zach Snyder did for Warner Bros./DC).
