PAX East 2026 Cosplay Meetups – Baldur’s Gate 3
The second Friday Cosplay Meetup gallery from Saturday at PAX East 2026 shows validation of the concept that even super popular games have a fall-off in popularity. While there wasn’t a meetup for Baldur’s Gate 3 in 2025, just based on the number of photos I took last year of cosplayers from that game, it would have been one of the largest of the year.
The Baldur’s Gate 3 meetup gallery from this year linked below has just enough photos to not need it to be merged with another gallery to build up the numbers. Meanwhile, although there wasn’t a meetup for the game this year, the big hit Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was one of the most common choices by cosplayers in the studio galleries — possibly the most common game cosplay aside from a long-standing franchise such as Resident Evil.
Hosting this year’s BG3 meetup was the experienced saphssquatch, who ran the Marvel Rivals meetup last year. She can be seen in a couple of the large group shots as Gamer Girl Shadowheart, based on fan art from artist whiskersspell.
There was one advantage to having a smallish turnout for the BG3 meetup — our photographer Jibrii got a chance to take a break and get some lunch before the third back-to-back meetup, Pokémon cosplayers, started at 3:45 p.m. Not that he got much of a chance to be in a relaxing environment for his break. He came back into Room 207 right about when the Enforcers put down the line queue tape because our studio crowd was getting so large it spilled out into the hallway.
