Saturday at Anime Boston 2026 essentially whimpered to a close, because once the security volunteers started lining people up for the Masquerade — the most popular event of the convention — I had fewer and fewer people coming to my studio. And calling out to cosplayers to come over for photos wasn’t an option since almost everyone that rushed by was heading to the back of the queue line for the main theater.

Which isn’t to say I didn’t call out to a bunch of cosplayers and groups once the line moved into the theater. I got three different pairs from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End over the course of the last few hours, the excellent group of My Hero Academia kids and their friend as Nezuko from Demon Slayer, and finally after seeing them multiple time throughout the afternoon, the Miku Myers mashup of Hatsune Miku and Michael Myers.

And near the end of the day, I had two cool throwbacks back-to-back — Milo and Audrey from the Disney movie Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Black Star from the anime Soul Eater. The very last photos are from some good cosplay friends, the pair of animesuckx and hail_rosequartz as Charlie from Hazbin Hotel and a pink cowgirl respectively, and then makeupmermaidcos as a goth lolita for the final shots of the evening.

Congratulations to all of the Masquerade winners. It looks like the only one I got a photo of during Saturday was kateharmonsiberine in her Catbus wheelchair cosplay, from the anime movie My Neighbor Totoro. That photo is on the Part 3 gallery posted yesterday.
