PAX East 2026 Saturday Gallery Part 3
Midway through the gallery linked below, I took over the photography duty from David. As I mentioned in a Friday post when David started his shifts, he was shooting using the live view screen on the back of the camera while I was using the viewfinder. That meant his shots are in 3:2 ratio while mine are in 4:3. It was only a minor problem in the post processing of the photos, since it was pretty easy to tell when David’s shots started and mine ended.
At some point on Saturday at PAX East 2026, he decided to switch from live view to viewfinder and back, while shooting the same cosplayer or group. He did that for a good reason — I don’t want to ever see the walls behind the backdrop, and it is easier to get the full frame view using the viewfinder. But boy does it up the challenge level for me in post processing. So, apologies for some of the photos in this gallery which have the logos in a slightly different location than the rest.
This gallery also was when we reached the limit of the queue lines the Enforcers laid down on the floor of Room 207 (and which David improved greatly with accurate flow arrows). Anticipating this might happen, the Enforcers set aside some seating space in the other part of Cosplay Village, Roon 206 next door, where the meetups happened. So, we had to send a handful of cosplayers there with instructions to wait five minutes and come back in when the line had cleared a bit.
This happened two more times over the course of Saturday afternoon. We are going to need a bigger room next year. Thankfully, Victoria came back to help out at the table, giving Clever a break and a chance to help with line management. At one point we even had some Enforcers helping us, mostly with moving people between the two rooms.
