PAX East 2026 Cosplay Meetups – Pokémon
The third and last Cosplay Meetup on Friday at PAX East 2026 was cosplayers from the Pokémon game franchisee. Given the age, variety and global reach of Pokémon, it makes sense that the gallery linked below has more than 60 photos of individuals, large groups and smaller breakout groups for specific character types.
One thing I found surprising is how many of the people who showed up for the meetup are cosplaying human characters from the franchise as opposed to the pocket monsters themselves. There are lots of professors and trainers, enough so that it might be close to a 50-50 split between the humans and the creatures. Among the creature cosplays there are plenty of gijinka (humanoid) versions, including the excellent maid trio.
The Pokémon Cosplay Meetup was hosted by mzsylver and professorevergreen, and as far as I can tell, neither one is in any of the photos. Although, to be fair, there are lots of cosplays that don’t show the cosplayer’s face, so I can’t say for sure.
Despite having back-to-back meetups to photograph since 11:45 a.m., Jibrii came back from the last one still feeling pretty energetic. Since things had slowed down in the studio in Room 207, I was able to check out a bunch of the photos he took during the day and was quite pleased.
