PAX East 2026 Cosplay Meetups – Resident Evil
The first Cosplay Meetup of Saturday at PAX East 2026 was for the Resident Evil game franchise and was hands down the most well attended meetup of the weekend to that point. You can see in the largest group photos in the gallery linked below that there were many dozens of cosplayers at the event. Part of the reason for that was that the meetup was branded as the “Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Cosplay Meetup” in recognition of that milestone date in the game’s history.
Another probable reason was that — likely because of the 30th anniversary — the voice actor for Leon Kennedy in the three most recent games and the Netflix miniseries, Nick Apostolides, was a guest at the convention, and anticipation was high that he might drop in on the meetup.
As you can see from the Featured Photo above, he did just that. He is the man in the center of the photo with the blue jacket sporting an American flag arm patch, holding a rocket launcher. And that appearance may be why there are less than 30 images in the gallery. Meetup hosts kenneth_pereira and etherealamberr likely prioritized getting as many people into photos with Apostolides as possible in the limited time he was at the meetup, and so there was fewer small breakout groups than in previous galleries.
I think it is wonderful that, as you can see in a bunch of the “good versus bad” group shots, Apostolides stayed for a while and even got into the group of photographers, sitting on the floor and taking pictures himself. Whether that was just a smart professional doing good content gathering for social media, or the sign of a true fanboy, it must have been a treat for the attendees to know that Leon Kennedy himself was taking their pictures.
