Dragon Con 2026 Gallery By Spectra_V3 Part 4
Since I mentioned some of the problems Dragon Con has faced in the past in my previous article, let’s focus on some positive things from this year.
According to reporting by FOX 5 Atlanta, the convention had 75,000 attendees this year. In addition, the charities that the convention often hosts did great numbers. The Dragon Con Heinlein/LifeSouth Blood drive set a record with 4,114 attendees donating blood during the five-day convention. I can’t find the source where I saw this, but I recall someone associated with the drive posting on social media that those numbers made it the third largest blood drive in the world.
Attendees also helped raise more than $320,000 for the Hope Atlanta homelessness charity. And they gave more than 5,000 books to the Georgia Public Library Service and the Fulton County Library System. Sure, Dragon Con has a well-deserved reputation as a party con, but it also does a lot of good for the greater Atlanta community.
About the first half of the photos from Jibrii of spectra_v3 linked in the gallery below were taken outside, on the Hilton back stairs plaza during the massive Black Geeks of Dragon Con 2026 photo shoot. The second half is shots taken inside, almost all of them on the Marriott Marquis atrium floor level, with a few in the Hilton lobby. Near the end of the gallery, back-to-back, are photos of two of our longest-running cosplay friends, leeleethebunny and kaldur, both of whom we’ve known for more than a decade.
Because it is always on Labor Day weekend, it’s easy to say when the next Dragon Con will happen, even if they hadn’t announced the dates of Sept. 2-6, 2027. Fingers crossed that Jibrii wants to cover it for us again.
Cosplayers in this final gallery from Dragon Con 2026 include that.tall.black.superman, venture__bros, vaeshawn, meeeowth_thats_wright, kai.esh_black, trevohnnthetitan, tiarabreecosplay, cosplaysbyshinobi, kaldur, gussyjay, sameertikkamasala, npc_chick, allison.chase.cosplay, ashefrosty, leeleethebunny, sharkiekitty, and many more.
