Colossalcon East 2025 Cosplay Gallery Part 1
Colossalcon East returned to the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in Pocono Manor, Penn., for their eighth annual convention on September 4-7, 2025. The organizers describe the event as “a four-day event that features a variety of entertainment in a diverse, multi-function, crowd-friendly environment.” Let’s take a look at some of the activities that make Colossalcon East a fun and unique convention.
Panels and programming are a big part of just about any comic or anime convention, and Colossalcon East featured a huge variety of content starting at the beginning of the convention on Thursday afternoon, all the way through the end of the event on Sunday. Panels covered a diverse group of topics including cosplay, anime, gaming, fan fiction, Japanese cinema, and much more. Several game show style panels encouraged interaction from those in attendance such as “Kpop Jeopardy” and “Are You Smarter Than a Magical Girl? A Madoka Magica Gameshow.” Although I don’t usually have time to attend any panels, I always enjoy perusing the list of panels in search of some of the more zany ones, the likes of which you’ll likely only find at Colossalcon East. A few that caught my attention this year included “Twinks and Lesbians Destroy the Universe,” “Figures to the Max! Blinded by B00bs Edition,” and “So you like Dommy Mommies?”. Some of the panels held during the late night hours were 18+ only, and I believe those that I just mentioned were probably in that category.
Voice actors in attendance this year included Amber Lee Connors, Sandy Fox, Lex Lang, Morgan Laure, Bryson Baugus, Corey Wilder, and Chris Hackney. In addition to the usual autographing sessions, all of the voice actors got together for one big ol’ Q&A panel on Saturday of the convention, giving some fans an opportunity to ask their pressing questions about their experiences in the industry.
The Market Room at Colossalcon East is one of the most unique and popular features of the event. The area was host to several different types of shopping experiences throughout the show, where attendees could sell their own wares. During the Otaku Craft Fair on Thursday, attendees could sell items of their own creation. On Friday the Market Room was host to the CCG & Gaming Market, where attendees could sell collectible card game cards, tabletop games, video games, and other related merchandise. The Otaku Flea Market on Sunday gave attendees the opportunity to buy and sell previously viewed or used anime and video game related merchandise.
A cosplay meet & greet was also held on Friday in the Market Room along with the CCG & Gaming Market, giving cosplayers an opportunity to meet some of their fans as well as sell prints and other merchandise. Cosplayers featured at the meet & greet this year included Cosmic Lils, Sakuraharunogirl, MyCabbages Cosplay, Valentine Cosplays, Cosplaycatkitty, Kennedy_Cosplays, and Peachybunnn, among a number of others. Although I wasn’t able to make it to the meet & greet, I was able to catch a few of these cosplay guests at the water park, so be on the lookout for them across my photo galleries from the show.
Cosplay meetup/photoshoots are another staple of conventions, and over ONE HUNDRED of them were held over the course of the four-day event this year. No matter what you may be cosplaying as, it’s very likely there’s a meetup for your fandom for you to join in with other like-minded attendees. I hosted two of them myself this year — the Fighting Game Swimsuit Shoot and the Marvel Rivals Swim Shoot. My content from these meetups is already up on our site, so check them out if you’re interested!
There were also a number of concerts and musical performances for attendees to enjoy. Jonathan Young, Caleb Hyles, The Triforce Quartet, The Super Thrash Bros., Elliot Lee, Kazha, and Off-Knowneous were among the performance guests at the show pumping out tunes for attendees to dance and vibe to.
Some of the many other features and activities at Colossalcon East this year included an arcade room with cabinets provided by Snow Phoenix, a karaoke contest, the Beyblade Beatdown, a formal ball, a rave, and much, much more.
The vast and impressive venue itself is certainly one of the things that makes Colossalcon East stand out among the competition. The Kalahari’s huge waterpark is a favorite destination for many convention attendees. Wristbands to the waterpark are included for guests staying at the Kalahari resort, while other visitors could purchase day passes to the waterpark for $70 – $100, with prices varying depending on the day of the week. There was also an after-hours waterpark party held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, for convention attendees only, priced at $45 for one night, and $125 for all three nights.
Colossalcon holds four conventions across the country, which will be increasing to five with Colossalcon Virginia coming in May 2027. These events offer a truly unique experience among a sea of other anime conventions that sometimes feel a bit “samey.” If you’re an anime fan looking for something that breaks the traditional anime convention mold, the Colossalcons are definitely worth checking out.
Colossalcon East will return to the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in Pocono Manor, Penn., on September 10-13, 2026.
