ConnectiCon 2018 Cosplay Gallery, Saturday Part 1

The storied Hartford-based convention ConnectiCon continued in 2018 its tradition of a great gathering spot for cosplayers, a challenging mix of nerd and non-nerd events going on at the same weekend, and the difficulties of running a con in Hartford. For me, it was a very enjoyable weekend, but I say that as a member of the press, not as an attendee.

One of the things that made ConnectiCon 2018 enjoyable for me was the smaller crowds than the last time I was there, 2015. While I haven’t seen official attendance numbers yet, there is no doubt the crowds in and around the Connecticut Convention Center were noticeably smaller than in previous years. This made getting around much easier than it has been. And it didn’t negatively affect the amount of cosplay photos I took. Like in 2015, I will have three galleries from Saturday. I only shot enough for one gallery from Sunday 2015, and I will have two for this year, so that is an improvement.

One other plus I will mention: the convention center staff itself was much more courteous and even friendly this year than many of them have been in previous years. Not to me — I’ve always been treated well — but to cosplayers and attendees, in almost every interaction I saw. This isn’t to imply ConnectiCon staff and volunteers were anything other than courteous in all my encounters, but the convention center staff has been a particular problem in years past.

Cosplayers in this first of three galleries from Saturday include Clillith cosplayBloodborne BeautyPetry CosplaysBT CostumesEdnon CosplayAmaranthineBunnySBG CosplayFaerunCosplaynikita_83, and many more.
